I, too, am a seventh great-granddaughter of Valentine, "The Immigrant" Sevier through his first child, John Sevier and John's first wife, Sarah Jane Hawkins. Just for the record, the senior Valentine was born in 1702. :) I've been dancing so hard with these ancestors my feet ache. So many repeated names, so many lost records. My fifth great-grandfather, also a Valentine, seems to have fallen off the genealogical map. So much so, that neither Zella Armstrong, nor Cora Bales Sevier could fully locate him. :O I have all kinds of questions that, perhaps you can help me with, if you are willing. Are you over at Ancestry.com, by chance? I am. Just find the public tree: Dewdney/Herring, it leads right up to the Seviers. Just go through John Wesley Herring. His parents were Daniel Washington Herring and Ellender Sevier (great-granddaughter of the governor.) Again, nice to virtually meet you, cousin. :DGalacticGalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03093005249578529153noreply@blogger.com
